(a) Initiative: Participation in Lake Superior State University’s Annual Fall Career Fair The VP/General Manager of the Employment Unit, who has substantial responsibility in the making of hiring decisions, attended a job fair at Lake Superior State University, from 3:00PM to 5:00PM on Tuesday, October 6, 2009. The VP/GM staffed a table with information about careers in radio and accepted applications from prospective employees. (b) Initiative: Participation in Career Showcase Event In the fall of 2009, VP/General Manager of the Employment Unit, who has substantial responsibility in the making of hiring decisions, participated in the Career Showcase, sponsored by the Sault Area Chamber of Commerce, Sault Area Schools, the Intermediate School District, Michigan Works! and the Employment Training Consortium. At the Career Showcase, the Employment Unit hosted area high school students and their families in the station offices and studios for the evening, showing the facilities and answering questions about broadcasting as a career. (c) Initiative: Provision of EEO Training to Management Level Personnel In the fall of 2009, the Employment Unit held management training as to methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and preventing discrimination. The management training was provided by the VP/General Manager and attendees included the president of the company, the Operations Manager, and the Office Manager. Marie, MI (collectively, the “Brokered Stations”).
